Sharuum+ Blasting Station

Is it true that Sharuum the Hegemon can enter the battlefield and be sacrificed to Blasting Station before her trigger resolves? And if so, does this mean she can target herself from the graveyard and repeat and infinite burn combo?

no because you chose targets when an ability goes onto the stack. by the time you can respond to sharuum entering the battlefield her ability will already be on the stack, meaning that you would have to target an artifact before she is in the graveyard

114.1. Some spells and abilities require their controller to choose one or more targets for them. The targets are object(s), player(s), and/or zone(s) the spell or ability will affect. These targets are declared as part of the process of putting the spell or ability on the stack. The targets can't be changed except by another spell or ability that explicitly says it can do so.

just for reference

he is wrong though. just look at the ruling I posted above. but ill explain it anyway

when sharuum enters the battlefield its ability goes onto the stack. at this time you must choose a target for that ability. you cant respond to the trigger without it already being on the stack. so by the time sharuum is sacraficed and in the graveyard, a target must already have been chosen

The combo is Sculpting steel + sharuum and something like propoganda, I think blasting station works (too busy to check it, but it should) but you need sculpting steel and sharuum to combo out her leaving and returning.

That guy was confusing himself with the interaction of the Legend Rule and multiple Sharuums. Because the Legend Rule is a state based action, it's checked and executed right before a player would receive priority. Triggered abilities are put onto the stack when a player does receive priority.

So the way it works is that if a second Sharuum enters the battlefield, the Legend Rule will put them both in the graveyard before the ETB trigger of the second one is put onto the stack. When it is, you can choose one of the dead Sharuums as a target. When that comes in you target the other Sharuum with the ETB and then you start looping and kill your opponents with Disciple of the Vault or whatever else you have going on.
