i've experimented wit mimic vat and trostani and stirring wilds but the lands get exiled at the end of the turn, in essence is there a way of making lands in green/white?
Yeah, just have the animated manland die, stick it onto Mimic Vat , and when you make the token of the manland, you can populate with card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. The original token will be exiled but the populated token will stick.

You may want to note that when you use Mimic Vat to create a copy of the exiled Stirring Wildwood , the token copy will be a non-animated land when it enters the battlefield. You will need to animate the land token in order to be able to populate it.
In the case of Stirring Wildwood , all of the tokens will enter the battlefield tapped as well.

Rayenous is right, it'll cost you [5][G][G][W][W] to actually get one land token. I didn't even think of that.

Technically you're doing it right - the populated token of Mimic Vat will not get exiled because its the Mimic Vat that exiles the token. Mimic Vat has nothing to do with the populated token so it won't exile that.
