Hundred-Handed One - 2WW

Creature - Giant

Vigilance, 3WWW Monstrosity 3

As long as Hundred-Handed One is monstrous, it has reach and can block an additional 99 creatures

The flavor man.. the flavor...

I think it is insane that it can block, literally, all the creatures. Will it ever have to block more than 100 creatures? Probably not, but the fact is you can!

I love that they are taking things that would normally have been 'can block any number of creatures' and are turning it into 'essentially' the same thing to keep with the flavor. It makes the cards much more interesting in my opinion.

Well there is still the chance someone can get into an unlimited token cycle then it makes a difference. That's very unlikely to happen and not in standard. I like this guy though seems like he'll be fun to play.

Basically it says "May block any number of creatures, other than infinity."

Possibly the greatest words I've read on a Magic card? I actually laughed out loud, so good.

@JWiley129 "I think it is insane that it can block, literally, all the creatures."

I'm sad to see the new definition of literally, the one that means "the opposite of literally" being used so soon :(

It's actually worse than things like Avatar of Hope that can block any number of creatures specifically because it no longer buys you a turn against token generation combo.

However, it IS the single best line of rules text in the history of Magic.

Sorry Devonin, I was using the literary device known as hyperbole. And even though he can't "block ALL the creatures," you'd have to go outside the Standard environment in order for him to be overwhelmed.

Indestructibility + Guardian of the Gateless // It's basically the same, only 100 handed one costs 5 more and can only block 100 creatures. Guardian also has the chance to actually kill some of the attacking creatures.

You can't compare a two card combo to a single card and say it suck....

Except that it's still a two card combo either way. 100 Handed one would die if it didn't have Indestructibility and that's what I was comparing. The combo's with Indestructibility The reason I say the 100 handed combo is sub par is because it costs a lot more to pull off and doesn't do as much. Don't get me wrong though 100 handed is good with devotion and such, just that Guardian of the Gateless Does one aspect better.

Once monstruous, he would be a 6/8 vigilance reach that can block 100. Not sure it pass the "bear test".... In most game, just having him on the field will make your opponent unable to attack. Also monstruous can be activated on an opponent turn, maybe there is a way to make that a combat trick...

It's advantage over the angel is also that you can pay in two turns..... Also vigilance is a huge thing....
