Will Tasigur, the Golden Fang go up or stay the same after rotation?

It sees some play in EDH, and a little in Legacy. However, it will most likely go down because of rotation.

It sees play in modern too.

He sees almost no play in Legacy, Gurmag Angler is the delve of choice in Legacy as it can't be bounced by Karakas.

Foils are the only way I'd buy in at the moment. You can save a few nonfoil but the return will be small for awhile. Foils will hold a ton of value. I look at him similar to Abrupt Decay.

The other problem for Tasigur's non foil printing is that he showed up in a supplemental product so there will be extra non foil copies floating about.

saj0219 Long term I see him settling at $8-$10 non foil and $50+ for foil. The only reason I believe his foil multiplier will be 4x nonfoil is the fact that he is the most played commander in EDH, he is played in Modern, potentially Legacy, and normally as 1-2. This means players will look to get 1-2 foils.

Most played commander is a bit much. Popular yes but idk about most played.I personally think he will tank after rotation. Hes been declining for weeks.

Lastdaysgunslinger Mtgtop8.com says otherwise. It's at 12% which is double the next highest commander in aggro or control. I guess I should have clarified that he's the most popular competitive commander.

That's tournament 1v1. That's hardly representative of multiplayer decks in shops around the world. If I had to guess which ones are the most popular commanders, I'd probably say the precon ones. Nekusar, Proshh, etc.

He's a great Commander, I made a Commander deck with him having a alliance with the Eldrazi's. I call it, Eldrazi's Pact with Tasigur, the Golden Fang. I think he makes the Commander deck i built kick a**. Check it out everyone. You'll be surprised at how cool it is.

He will likely crash hard, get bought up just before next modern season and sit around his current price (or maybe around $10) provided jund variants are still a thing.

TheDevicer Not to mention the fact that Tasigur will most likely get banned soon for 1v1.

February 26, 2016 6:30 a.m.

Yes, that is true Gillium, i've seen MTG discussions on this banning from 1v1 but it will be allowed in Duel Commander. I'm pretty sure that's what it stated. The Ban on him starts in April.

dragonsandgoblins85 The Duel Commander committee just put him on the "Red list". From the website:

"This now leads us to add Tasigur, the Golden Fang (when considered as a commander) on the red list. This indicates, with very high probability, that it will end up being banned from Duel Commander as a commander for the next Shadows over Innistrad update, on April 2016."

It's only for duel commander? I got it mixed up. Not red listed from both right? I'm a little confused on this. That would stink for me. I have a Eldrazi's Pact with Tasigur, the Golden Fang deck for Commander I built. Will he be banned as Commander indefinite?

dragonsandgoblins85 He's been redlisted for the Duel Commander format only. He's fine in vanilla Commander.

I didn't know that. It makes sense but that also makes me sad. I guess I'll have to hope for a great 4cmc or less BUG commander in Conspiracy 2.

Okay thanks. Appreciate the info. Now I know for the future. d&g85
