Hi,
I've not played mtg in over 5 years, I am looking for advice on how best to sell my collection to raise cash for family essentials (I have a 5 year old child, the two events may be strongly related).
For example the collection contains: - one full set of revised (I think around 20 dual lands in all my revised cards) - A foil full art Mutavault- Some Force of Wills- Anthologies boxed set- Deckmasters: Garfield vs. Finkel boxed set - full sets plus of: -- Mercadian Masques -- Nemesis -- Prophecy -- Invasion -- ... -- ... -- Shadowmoor -- Eventide- Assorted FNM and player reward cards (inc Damnation - Assorted sets pain and shock lands
How would people suggest I sell the collection for most money and least effort, keeping in mind I am UK based?
Thanks

International shipping will be a bitch, so sell locally if you can. Other players are usually your best bet when dealing with collections because stores typically have non-negotiable buylists.

Apart from that - in the UK you can use ebay (shipping is tricky), sell to stores (you'll get very small amounts) or private.

Thanks, they were the options I thought I had - the idea of selling through ebay strikes me as a lot of effort... but it might be the best option in the end.

Large lots don't go down well on ebay you'd have to sort everything. where are you based?

I've bought and sold on ebay in the past, you're right large collections don't go well. I used to presume that all the good stuff had already been cherry picked out.
I listed the items to give a flavour of what is in my collection; I suspect I want to check out price list and pick out high value cards to sell as singles. I'm hoping to get some pointers and cut down the actual leg work i need to do.
Back when I played there were noticeable price fluctuations based upon whether a card was in the current meta for the up coming tournament scene - (e.g. extended cards were worth more at the beginning of extended season and they dropped in price at the end of extended season).
I was hoping for advice around such matters given the age of the collection.
btw ChiefBell I've dropped you a message on your wall.
Thanks,

If ChiefBell didn't lay claim to the Force of Will, I would be super interested in those. I live in the USA, but if we could work out a deal I'd be super interested. My email is [email protected] if you'd like to discuss pricing.

Thanks,
I'm not really looking to sell things piece meal in this thread, I was looking at advice to maximise the money I can get for the set whilst minimising the effort I put in to get it.

I understand, never hurts to try. If you'd be willing to entertain the thought down the line, I'm on here daily. Lemme know when you eBay your stuff(if that's what you come to).
