I want to psych my enemy by using a card like worldfire to destroy basically everything then win the game for a huge come back or surprise. Any ideas as of how to do this?

What format? Standard, modern, etc?

Perhaps the most basic one is to Oblivion Ring your own creature and then cast Worldfire .

Thragtusk & Worldfire are good friends.

Making Worldfire a response to your opponent getting burned is a pretty good way to win. :)

Hypersonic Dragon , card:Alchemist's Refuge, Epic Experiment , and Spelltwine help with that, by the way.

Hypersonic Dragon wouldn't help a lot, since you'd have to put in 5 energy since you discard them all with Worldfire .

Any card, including Thragtusk would work. Any card that has "When this creature is removed from the battlefield, put an x/x creature on, would work nicely. The Oblivion Ring suggestion is very good as well.

playing epic experment deck makes the most since as you can ramp up use an epic hit a worldfire and increasing devotion have woldfire be the last thing on the stack and whipe with 5 1/1s on board. but everything else works too its just easier in such a mana ramp deck like epic.

Cegal, it does. While you are ramping to worldfire, you can play hypersonic dragon and then just use a burn spell/ability and respond with worldfire for the win.

I personally don't like the oblivion ring route, and this is why: O-ring has been balanced so that you pay 3 mana to exile a permanent belonging TO YOUR OPPONENT. You pay the cost and do the effect on yourself, and that's not a great strategy. (It's like someone Bump in the Night ing themself. It might be an essential part of the strategy, but playing cards like Sign in Blood is probably better overall.) If you can't worldfire and o-ring in the same turn, then you have a weak point in the strategy. It's good enough... but it's really not that good.

DARK_r3ck0n1ng, a burn spell would probably be better than increasing devotion, just because you don't give ANY possibility for a come-back. Even a small chance is still a possible loss. :/

*Technically you can't Bump in the Night yourself, but you get the idea...
