Kyoshi Island Plaza interaction question

This question came up during prerelease last night, and neither me nor my opponent were sure of the answer.
I had a Kyoshi Island Plaza in play, and cast a second. It resolved and hit the field. There are both the same legendary card, so one gets sacced as a state based action. I thought that I would get 3 basic lands, as it would hit the field and they'd see each other before the state based action. My opponent thought I'd only get 1 basic land.
It didn't have any effect on the games outcome, but I was curious what the answer was.
Thanks in advance

You should have searched for 2 basic lands.
The first ability only sees one shrine at time of resolution, so you only get one land from that.
The second ability does trigger and get added to the stack, so you also get to get one land from that.

Step by step:
You cast the second Shrine.
Second shrine enters, putting a trigger on the stack for both the original Shrine and the new one.
Before those triggers resolve, the legendary rule kicks in, leaving you with just one Shrine in play.
Resolving the trigger from the original Shrine, will check on resolution for the amount of Shrines and search for 1 basic.
Resolving the trigger from the new Shrine, will search for 1 basic.
In the end, you're up 2 basics and down 1 Shrine in play

Ruling from gatherer: "For Kyoshi Island Plaza's first ability, the number of Shrines you control is checked when the ability resolves. You will still search and shuffle your library if you control no Shrines when the ability resolves, but you won't get any lands."
The second ability should work the same. The state based action will kill one of your shrines before you search. So, if you only had one other Kyoshi, then you search for one land (because of its first ability, at resolution, only 1 exist).
