I've heard some stuff about Highlander, which is a format close to EDH. Anybody here play it? and how did you get started?

Osang correct, but what do you build with a 100 card singleton deck?? D: so many options!

Is there a color limit with a certain deck though? I feel like it's an unshackled version of EDH that just has so much more dirty potential if that's not the case.

Its the same rules as commander, except you shuffle the commander into your deck.

I live in Victoria, BC. We play a format we've come to call Canadian Highlander. It's a 100 card singleton format that does not use a commander at all.
There exist other forms of highlander. I believe in Europe and Australia they have a 60 hard highlander. So, 60 card singleton, with no commander. Deck construction there is Vintage legal with a banned list.
In Victoria we've created our own set of rules for deck construction. There is no Commander, so no colour restrictions. Deck building is Vintage legal. We have a very small banned list, but mostly our metagame is policed with a points list. When deck building you're allowed to include up to 14 points in your deck. The community comes together to assign points to powerful cards. For example, Stoneforge Mystic is a 1 point card, Mox Ruby is a 4 point card, and Sol Ring is a 7 point card.

Yup, that's me!
If you have any other highlander related questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Highlander was one of the spiritual precursors to EDH. Highlander is in reference to the movie "Highlander," where the tagline is "There can only be one."
There's been a few variations on it over the years. It used to be really popular in Extended, where you'd play a 60 card deck with singletons of all your non-basic land cards. It didn't always have 100 card decks.

From what I understand, it's a format without a Commander?
