Abusing Glittering wish

I'm Running a GW EDH deck with Tolsimir. I'm running Glittering wish (GW Sorcery: Choose a multicoloured card you own from outside the game[sideboard], reveal it , and put it into your hand. Remove this card from the game [exile]) Could I abuse it to get something like Biomass Mutation (U/G U/G X) and cast it using just green? Long story short, can I use Glittering Wish to cheat a non G/W card into my hand and be able to play it, if I would be able to cast it?

Questions like this should be asked in the Q&A. Also, please link your cards.
Tolsimir Wolfblood
Glittering Wish
Biomass Mutation

No. Your deck and sideboard must follow the Commander deck construction rules. You can't include any cards that aren't within your Commander's color identity.

In a sanctioned event, a card that's "outside the game" is one that's in your sideboard. In an unsanctioned event, you may choose any card from your collection.Thats the ruling from gatherer, if its MTGO you are forced to use the sideboard, but in paper you are free to choose any card you own. I would say that you are able to bring in a card that would not technically be legal.

Commander has an optional 10-card sideboard rule. While I cannot find much information on Commander sideboards, it would logically follow that they must adhere to the same construction rules as your deck. You can't sideboard Tarmogoyf in Standard. You shouldn't be able to sideboard an illegal card in EDH.

My point is that the sideboard is not required for the Wish but only in casual games, as per the oracle ruling. therefore you could search for any multicoloured card but again only in casual.

From the EDH website:

Abilities which refer to other cards owned outside the game (Wishes, Spawnsire, Research, Ring of Ma'ruf) do not function in Commander unless the optional sideboard rule is in use. If sideboards are used, wishes and similar cards may retrieve sideboard cards.

Yes you are correct there. However as this is a purely casual format he should really ask his metagroup on their opinions and not a website as they may or may not wish to follow the rule.
