This is what I've been using and upgrading for quite a few years now. I'm not sure how close it is to what you're looking for, but I've had success with the build, admittedly better in multiplayer vs 1v1. Hope it's a good starting off point.

By theft you mean stealing creatures? Easiest for me is Arcbound creatures (that ETB with counters) and Helm of Possession .
If you steal them with temporary sorceries and they have a counter you can use any sac outlet (my favorite is Dracoplasm )
Thalakos Deceiver is also amazing. Attack the guy who gives you a dethrone counter then sac the Deciever and take a creature from any player.
