Are these Film Franchises Dead?

I have not heard any news recently about the G.I.-Joe, Transformers, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchises, which is very unfortunate, as I enjoyed those franchises, even if the quality of the writing was questionable, at times. Given that none of those franchises seem to be active, currently, I wonder if audiences can presume that those franchises are now dead and unlikely to return in the near future.

What does everyone else say about this subject? Are the G.J.-Joe, Transformers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchises dead?

Unless they get picked up by Disney they're dead.

G.I. Joe is slated for at least two movies at this time. The sequel to 2013's Retaliation was scheduled for a 2020 release but obviously COVID has gotten in the way. It was due to be titled Ever Vigilant and both the Rock and Bruce Willis were expected back. As of right now it seems like a reboot is more likely and things are still very much a go on the Snake Eyes movie. As this is Paramount property and they are going to be doing everything possible to get eyes on their streaming service I can see them moving forward with both to have more exclusive content.

As for the other I'm not certain what is in the works or being discussed.

As a follow-up to my previous comment. For Transformers, another movie in the Bumblebee universe is expected to be released in summer 2022.

For TMNT - Seth rogen is producing an animated reboot with Nikelodeon focusing on the more teenage aspect of the Turtles that is also expected in either summer 2022 or '23.

Not completely dead in the water but of the three, TMNT seems like it has the least momentum with no live action films expected out any time soon.

RNR_Gaming, why are you saying that? Why would the Walt Disney company have anything to do with those film franchises?

Thats all that seems to be doing well in box offices. Maybe it's just because of Covid but I haven't seen anything not disney/Marvel do well since Jon Wick.

Dormant. Not dead.

They're gonna need some time to air out the stink of the Michael Bay films.

I think Disney would be glad to pick up any or all of those franchises since they primarily target young boys. Disney bought Marvel to branch out to a more young male audience since they already have the princess market handled.

The problem is Disney wouldn't want to just make a movie without owning the entire license and Hasbro is unlikely to sell them to Disney. (Not sure if Hasbro owns them all but they have xformers at least.)

RiotRunner789, I know that TMNT is now owned by Nickelodeon, and Hasbro owns both G.I.-Joe and Transformers.

I know that this is not the thread in which to say this, but I really wish that Marvel would release their animated series from the 1990's (i.e., X-Men: the Animated Series, Spiderman: the Animated Series, and so forth) plus X-Men: Evolution on blu-ray, as DC has done with their series. I know that those series are available to view on Disney+, but that simply is not the same thing as having physical copies, and I also refuse to subscribe to any streaming service, as I do not wish to support that model of business.
