Ended up finishing with a 3-1 third place
Game One - 2-1 - My first game was against a Red/Blue Energy deck which could have been 2-0 except a couple fatal miss-plays on my part allowed him to win the second game. But Bastion Inventor proved essential and beat out his burn spells for the final win.
Game Two - 1-2 - The only match I lost to was a Copy Cat deck but was able to beat him out in game one and then Lost Legacy his Cat in game two, but he still beat me with heavy planeswalkers. I honestly didn't think this deck would win at all against that deck, but I think with a little more practice and familiarity, it will continue to do well.
Game Three - 2-1 - Game three was against a kid who didn't really know how to play his Delirium deck and made several bad plays throughout the game. Improvised in my Demons and let them whittle him down.
Game Four - 2-1 - Last match was against a White/Black control which proved to be very entertaining. Our first game was a planeswalkers race. He had Liliana and Gideon and I ended up with Chandra and Tezzeret. I kept focusing on Liliana to keep her from her ultimate and after I played Tezzeret's ultimate, he mis-played an Anguished Unmaking to finish him off (when he should have done so on Chandra). I ended up ultimating her as well and wiped him out the following turn. Second game went horribly for me as I got mana-starved and never recovered. Our third game was also super fun as I drew two Metallic Rebuke's and Lost Legacy in my opening hand. I countered his Liliana then exiled his Gideon with Legacy. He was still able to keep me at bay with Gonti, Lord of Luxury and a bit more with his control cards. In the end, I was able to use my Demon and Tezzerets ultimate to finish him off.
The major takeaway I have so far is that this deck has forced me to play three games every match ... it's exhausting. Which also means I need to stay sharp throughout and really know my deck in order for it to be effective ... also exhausting. Still a work in progress though.
