A friend of mine and myself joined a two-headed giant tournament, and got quite the pool, including a promo foil Emrakul! I wanted this card for my BUG deck the second I saw it and can't wait to see what kind of work it puts in.
Speaking of work, I was always surprised by how little Torrent Elemental ended up doing. The intent is to exile it with Mimeoplasm then put it back into play, or to play it and then swing into them without the ability to block, but it never happened.
Laboratory Maniac is definitely a clunky win condition. Not only can Loaming Shaman do essentially the same thing by making sure I never get to the point where I need Laboratory Maniac to not die, but it can also defend my graveyard by flashing it in as a response to grave hate.
