FNM: 7/18/14 —July 18, 2014

I went 4-0 at my first FNM at Play the Game here in Syracuse. I only lost a single game all night to a friend who I lent my Esper deck to. I stomped MonoGreen Aggro, BW Devotion, and Bant Flash all 2-0 otherwise. Felt really good (and I wasn't even playing with any M15 cards). Ended up coming in 1st place, and snatching up 12 packs, opening 2 Caves of Koilos, a Soul of New Phyrexia, and an Ajani Steadfast (among other things not really worth mentioning).

The monsters live!

I Like your Deck. I am Currently playing a Naya GR/m deck. And I am struggling in my Meta. I have a few Jund Cards and have been thinking about changing it over. I probably cant afford Abrupt Decay though. I notice that in mirrors you drop Courser of Kruphix, why is that?

@ traznex:

Courser of Kruphix is underwhelming in the mirror. As a 2/4 it doesn't trade well with any of the other threats and can't really pressure your opponent. Mana is certainly important to have access to. But the 8 mana accelerators does that job in the mirror well enough. All in all, it's just one of the less impactful cards you have. And you'd rather have more dedicated removal and cards that can out-attrition your monster-mirror opponent.
