Rendmaw, Creaking Nest

Legendary Artifact Creature — Scarecrow

Menace, reach

When this enters and whenever you play a card with two or more card types, each player creates a tapped 2/2 black Bird creature token with flying. The tokens are goaded for the rest of the game. (They attack each combat if able and attack a player other than you if able.)

thank you all those cards look so fun to play and I appreciate you sharing. I can see how artifacts can do that for you ,although not my go to most of the time as the person who taught me magic was big on me if having any permanents try to make them stay(more enchantments then anything or permanents that your just going to blink or sacrifice, he is a big control player) but I did build a Umori, the Collector artifact storm deck as well of thinking of building a Rendmaw, Creaking Nestfoil artifact deck. One card I saw from your pickings that I have never seen but now is calling me to put in some decks is Boarded Window again thank you for sharing and for the warm welcome.

kryophyre on Does Rendmaw still make birds …

If I have Rendmaw, Creaking Nestfoil on the battlefield and then cast a Copper Myr. Do I still create birds if the myr gets countered before it's able to resolve?

Do countered spells still count as "played cards"?

Rendmaw, Creaking Nestfoil exact wording is "whenever you play a card" Cards are separate from spells or lands. So would a split card like Destined / Lead count as two card types to trigger Rendmaw's ability
