Koh, the Face Stealer

Legendary Creature — Shapeshifter Spirit

When this enters, exile up to one other target creature.

Whenever another nontoken creature dies, you may exile it.

Pay 1 life: Choose a creature card exiled with this. (This is a linked ability, linked to the ability in the second paragraph on this card. You may only choose a creature if it was exiled via the ability in the second paragraph.)

Koh has all activated and triggered abilities of the last chosen card.

Ooh, nice. Better get yourself Hansk, Slayer Zealot to go into that.

Avatar: The last Airbender did quite a lot to my gauntlet. I had just managed to finally get down to eight decks, and now, after Avatar hit, I built Koh, the Face Stealer, Iroh, Grand Lotus, Wan Shi Tong, Librarian, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher and Diaochan, Artful Beauty. I'll see which one of these will stick. Looking at what we've seen from Lorwyn so far, I propably won't build a commander from the set, but I'm really pumped for the giant support, as with the officially spoiled vivid ability word, Kinaios and Tiro of Meletis actually managed to become the factually best giant commander.

Before the command zone was introduced, commanders were exiled rather than in an independent zone, that meant that if a commander was exiled by Oblivion Ring it could be cast from under the ring, but if it wasn't and the ring was removed, the commander would return as per the triggered ability. This was changed in 2011 and now if you move your commander to the command zone it becomes a new object that cannot be seen by Oblivion Ring. Similarly, if you use the state-based action to put Horobi, Death's Wail into the command zone, Koh, the Face Stealer will not be able to chose it with it's activated ability. Additionally, because it is a state-based action, you will not have the opportunity to activate the ability before it moves.
