Dirgur Island Dragon
Creature — Dragon
Flying
Ward (Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter it unless that player pays .)
Skimming Strike
Instant — Omen
Tap up to one target creature. Draw a card (Then this card into this owner's library.)
(You may cast Skimming Strike for from anywhere if you would have permission to cast it in that zone, then shuffle into its owner's library instead of putting it into your graveyard. When you have not chosen to cast Skimming Strike and put it on the stack, this card is treated only as Dirgur Island Dragon in whatever zone it is in.)
(Omen cards function identically to modal double faced cards when regarding to the interactions of cards that look at them or attempt to cast them.)

legendofa, I like Sword Coast Serpent a lot as both a tempo option and as a way to break through stalled boards (I play against a lot of White Weenie.) Dirgur Island Dragon has been less useful, but I do appreciate its flexibility. I could see swapping it with either more Fang Dragon or Avenging Hunter.
I'm not sure I'd want to cut blue completely (I find the counterspells quite useful, and cards like Sagu Wildling and Patron of the Arts make it really easy to get that blue mana), but looking over your list, I think you probably have better consistency. Though I have not had much success when I tried the orbs and globes you're using. They're just a bit too slow and there's enough artifact hate in the format that I don't often see their value.
