Rimefeather Owl
Snow Creature — Bird
Flying
Rimefeather Owl's power and toughness are each equal to the number of snow permanents in play.
(1)(Snow): Put an ice counter on target permanent.
Permanents with ice counters on them are snow.

Love a good snow deck! For more tappy shenanigans, you might consider Rimewind Taskmage. Another fun one is Heidar, Rimewind Master to boop threats (any permanent!) to your opponent's hand. Combos well with the taskmage! And to make any of your non-snow perms snow type to untap with Jorn, I like Rimefeather Owl. Plus, it's a giant flier. It's been a finisher for me in my snow deck.

I usually use Dismiss into Dream with things like Rimefeather Owl , Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer , or any thing that just does a simple targeting ability.

Marit Lage's Slumber Mouth of Ronom Arcum's Astrolabe Heidar, Rimewind Master and Rimefeather Owl would all be great additions to your list JLK. NICE DECK though!
libraryjoy on Looking for a fun budget …

I build a lot of budget decks. My playgroup plays mostly 60-card casual multiplayer. I'm looking for ideas of interesting build-around cards, especially from sets in the last couple of years (I started 7-8 years ago, and have not paid as close attention to recent sets). Some cards I have used in the past are Angelic Accord, Sephara, Sky's Blade, Armament Master, Hoofprints of the Stag, Blackblade Reforged, Nova Chaser, Faerie Swarm, Enduring Scalelord, Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves, Swans of Bryn Argoll, and Rimefeather Owl among others (especially elf decks). Today I started to build Crested Sunmare, only to find out they're $7 each! I had a similar problem when I started building around Behemoth's Herald and Godsire and then realized how much the price had jumped. I'm looking for cards that average less than $1 and provide an interesting building space. I do not play black but am open to any other color or combination of colors. I lean most heavily to Selesnya generally but also enjoy exploring other spaces. Deck lists are welcome, but mainly looking for card suggestions.

I don’t know how to edit posts but I guess those counters could be ice counters considering Rimefeather Owl is a thing.

Reducing lands is definitely the correct move for this deck. In the modern meta, the only decks running above 20 lands are Amulet Titan (for obvious reasons), and decks that feature land based land destruction in Ghost Quarter and Field of Ruin (Eldrazi Tron and Teferi Control, respectively).
Almost like I recommended a value draw engine to help fill hand, a mana rock to help accelerate and color fix, and a cost reducer as well as the deck already running a turn 1 dork ?
How it work
- Turn 1: Land + Boreal Druid
- Turn 2: Land + Coldsteel Heart + 1 cmc spell of choice
- Turn 3: Land + Centaur Omenreader + 1 cmc spell of choice
- Turn 4: Drop land, use your 4 lands, the 2 reducer from the centaur, and 1 more mana from your either rock or dork to get to Rimefeather Owl
You don't even need the turn 1 dork to get to the turn 4 Owl, or you could miss the turn 2 rock. Worst case scenario pitch Owl to power your Force of Negation or tuck it with Serum Visions if you see it early on top. There's a reason I recommended small inclusion size, not a 4x. Yes, in a vacuum the Owl is expensive, but not with the other recommends I gave. Also consider that it serves a role as finisher for games that go longer where this deck can grind value with its big removal and counterspell suite (14 pieces of interaction!), and unlike Marit Lage's Slumber you don't have to take an upkeep for it to be a creature. The Slumber can be removed by enchantment removal, as well as permanently be lost to any 1 or 2 cmc bounce spell.

Updraft , Force Void , Blessed Wine , and Rime Dryad are all pretty mediocre, but I like the theme.
I also like Icy Manipulator both for flavor and for utility. Dark Depths might be out of your price range, but it is such a cool flavor card. also on that list is Glacial Chasm . Some more enter the battlefield creatures might be really helpful things like Eternal Witness and Hornet Queen are busted good with roon. Eon Hub does things in this deck. I have no idea if it is a good card or not for the deck, but it certainly does things.
Some cool things to think about (specifically cool for you, and very uncool for your opponents). If you can make your opponents lands snow covered all of a sudden Balduvian Conjurer and Balduvian Frostwaker make them removable with creature removal like Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile can now remove lands. Which I guess for those specific removal cards seems pretty bad, but uh Sunscour after making all of your opponent's lands into 2/2's with the frostwaker seems pretty hilarious to me.
I think you're going to want all the mana you can get, so I'd look at signets cluestones and the like in your color pie. so like Simic Signet and Selesnya Cluestone .
Altogether your list is super fun and flavorful, could it have more focus on making a specific win condition go? like Worldly Tutor to get out the Rimefeather Owl consistently? Sure, but this schema is going to be tough to break, which is why it is fun. I think you could do more board clears and more making your opponent's lands into creatures, but I think that will make your play group dislike you pretty quickly. Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper might be fun if you want to go all in on making your lands into creatures and winning that way. And with that dude, you could go with Devastation Tide and Rude Awakening . There are a bunch of things your list could be sharpened into. Hope this helps.
