Winding Constrictor and profilerate

Short Question: doesnt Winding Constrictor technically doubble the effect of profilerate, or am i wrong?

Yes, as long as you're putting the counters on either yourself or an artifact or creature you control.

A card does what it says, no more and no less. When you go to put counters on things with a proliferate effect (Steady Progress, etc.), Winding Constrictor will make you put an additional counter on the things it applies to.
