Will Heroic still resolve if the spell used to trigger it lost one of its targets?

For example I have a Phalanx Leader and a Seeker of the Way in play attacking. Neither has any counters yet. I cast Coordinated Assault targeting both of them. My opponent then responds with a Stoke the Flames to my Phalanx Leader. Will the Heroic Trigger be removed since Coordinated Assault lost one of its targets and "fizzles"? Will the Prowess still trigger? Or will Seeker of the Way still get both a Prowess trigger and a +1/+1 counter?

The Heroic ability will not trigger because the Stoke the Flames will resolve first and kill off your Phalanx Leader. Then you're spell will resolve and prowess will trigger. No +1/+1 counters.

to follow up, the spell doesn't 'fizzle' because the spell states: "up to two target creatures", which means that you may choose less than 2, but not more than two. spell will resolve and trigger prowess.

The Heroic ability of Phalanx Leader will still trigger and resolve. Heroic triggers when you 'cast' a spell that targets the Heroic creature, which is fulfilled when you finish casting the Coordinated Assault. Both the Heroic trigger and Prowess will trigger at the same time, they will go on the stack above the Coordinated Assault in whichever order you wish.

Your opponent killing off the Phalanx Leader won't affect anything. A triggered ability on the stack is independent of its source; killing the object that created the trigger won't affect the ability on the stack. The Heroic trigger will resolve as normal, putting a +1/+1 counter on each of your creatures. The Coordinated Assault still has at least one legal target so it will resolve the best it can.

Ah, I've been playing that wrong all along. I was under the impression that the ability would only trigger when the spell resolve, I didn't realize that it happens simply as a result of 'casting' the spell. Learned something new
