who does their upkeep triggers first?

Asked by sarekire 8 years ago

I use Rally the Ancestors and I get back alot of creatures, my opponent has a Mogis, God of Slaughter .... when it's my turn can I sacrifice one of my creatures that I got back from ancestor? Or do I exile from ancestor first?

When multiple abilities go onto the stack at the same time, they go on in APNAP (Active Player, Non Active Player) order. Being your turn, you are AP, so your Rally the Ancestors goes on, then their Mogis, God of Slaughter ability. Mogis resolves first, you sac a creature, then your creatures all exile to Rally.

Epochalyptik, I think thats right?

I'm confused by your answer you say that the active player goes first so wouldn't that mean I must exile all of my creatures before I get the chance to sac from mogis?

ohhh are you saying active player trigger on stack, non active trigger on top of it so the non active goes first?

Correct. Since the stack works in FILO (First In, Last Out) order, and since your abilities go on in APNAP order, your abilities are the last to resolve.

It has always seemed odd to me that it works that way, but it can be beneficial, like in your scenario.
