When does extort's effect go on the stack?

I have been considering a combo for dealing with lifegain decks- Repay in Kind and "Extort". For the combo to work, Extort's effect needs to resolve before Repay in Kind. Can I decide what goes on the stack when, or is there an order? If so, what is the order?

Extort triggers when you cast the spell, which means that it will end up on the stack above whatever spell triggered it. Therefore, extort will resolve first.

Because the extort mechanic is triggered by casting a spell, aka Repay in Kind, the trigger goes on the stack after said spell, meaning it resolves first...sorry
