What's the difference between "Wither" and "Infect"?

Asked by BaphometReigns 8 years ago

For an example, would Boggart Ram-Gang just deal regular damage directly to an opponent, or would they get poison counters from it?

Anything with Wither will only change the way it deals damage to creatures, while something with Infect will change the way it deals damage to both creatures and players. Boggart Ram-Gang would deal damage normally to an opponent because Wither doesn't give poison counters.

Wither just modifies how damage is dealt to creatures. It has nothing to do with damage dealt to players.

Both wither and infect damage are dealt to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters.

Only infect damage is dealt to players in the form of poison counters.
