Thassa and Quest for Ula's Temple order?

Asked by Teras 8 years ago

Both Thassa, God of the Sea and Quest for Ula's Temple say their effects activate at beginning of upkeep, does this mean I can choose the order they activate? Basically, can I use Thassa, God of the Sea scry 1 and then reveal a card for Quest for Ula's Temple ?

Yes. If you control multiple triggered abilities going on the stack at the same time you choose what order they go on the stack, and then they resolve in reverse order.

603.3b If multiple abilities have triggered since the last time a player received priority, each player, in APNAP order, puts triggered abilities he or she controls on the stack in any order he or she chooses. (See rule 101.4.) Then the game once again checks for and resolves state-based actions until none are performed, then abilities that triggered during this process go on the stack. This process repeats until no new state-based actions are performed and no abilities trigger. Then the appropriate player gets priority.

Triggered abilities trigger. Activated abilities are manually activated. These abilities are both triggered abilities; they trigger, not activate.
