Sigil Tracer activate more than once?

Asked by IrishMidgetMan 6 years ago

With Sigil Tracer, given I have enough mana and untapped wizards in play, can I copy an instant or sorcery more than once?

example: I cast Rite of Rep, activate Sigil Tracer by paying and tapping-get a second Rite on the stack, and pay an additional (1)(U) and tap another 2 wiz and get a third Rite on the stack

As long as you can continue to pay the cost, yes.

Yup, here's the deal:

You cast Lightning Bolt (just as a for instance). At this point, you retain priority, and must pass priority to the next player if you have nothing else to do, and the bolt won't resolve, and thereby leave the stack until all players have passed priority. With priority, you activated Sigil Tracer's ability, paying the cost for it, and it goes onto the stack above Bolt, targeting it.Again you retain priority and can continue this process until you no longer have sufficient resources to activate Tracer's ability.

Not only can you copy bolt more than once, but you can copy it as many times as you want before your opponent(s) even have priority to intervene.
