Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker vs Vampiric Link

Asked by WickedVampire 8 years ago

Whenever you Use Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker's Uptick and he becomes a creature until the end of turn. If i enchant him with Vampiric Link on my second main phase and he then turns back into a planeswalker Does the enchantment fall off? Is that legal? Can it happen/ is it even possible.

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, Vampiric Link.

Vampiric Link is restricted to only being able to enchant a creature. This means that it must be cast and enchanted on to a creatures, and at all times, it constantly checks "Is this a creature? How about now? Is it still a creature?"

If at any time the answer to that question is "No", the enchantment falls off and is put into its owner's graveyard.

Once Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker stops being a creature at the end of the turn, Vampiric Link is enchanting an illegal permanent and falls off.

And to continue, yes, it is perfectly legal to enchant the animated Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker. The enchantment will just fall off at the end of the turn. It is possible to do this, and it can happen. To get the most out of this, it's best to enchant the animated Sarkhan in the pre-combat main phase, that way you can at least get some life out of it.
