Responses to Mana Leak

Asked by EJ0hn 6 years ago

I have a scenario I need clarification on.

An opponent plays a creature on their turn.
I play Mana Leak.
They pay the 3 mana to still get their creature out.

Can I then play another Mana Leak or Remand in response to their paying 3 mana.

In other words if an opponent pays 3 to stop Mana Leak do I still have a chance to play another counter spell before the whole stack resolves.

Thanks

Please link all cards in your question by using double brackets.

Mana Leak

Remand

Objects on the stack resolve one at a time and there is a round of priority between each object resolving. Your opponent casts a creature and you cast Mana Leak on it after they pass priority to you. There are no further responses and Mana Leak resolves and they pay the mana. There is another round of priority before their creature resolves. You can play any instant you like when you receive priority during this round, including another counter spell.

Sorry about the card links I'm still getting used to the site and I was looking for the buttons like you see when commenting, but didn't see them so, my apologies.

Thank you for the clarification. I assumed that was how it worked, but wanted to make sure. Thanks
