Rampaging Ferocidon Triggers

Asked by BlackChaosRuin 6 years ago

In a 3-player game, one of my opponents is at 20 life and activates the second ability of Grimoire of the Dead. He brings back a total of 25 creatures, one of which is my Rampaging Ferocidon. Without any other relevant triggers, am I correct in saying that the Ferocidon will see each other creature enter the battlefield, and my opponent will take 25 damage and lose?

Follow-up to this, if in the above situation, one of my opponents was to leave the game whilst controlling permanents owned by myself and my remaining opponent, would those permanents be exiled, rather than return to our control?

Yes, Rampaging Ferocidon sees the other creatures enter and triggers 24 times (not 25, because it does say "another"). Your opponent will only take 20 damage, because once they hit 0 life they'll lose the game and exile the other 4 triggers still on the stack. They'll also lose control of any permanents they gained control of, such as if they Dominated one of your creatures, then all creatures they still control that they don't own (because the creature entered the battlefield under their control, such as your Rampaging Ferocidon that got reanimated by Grimoire of the Dead) will be exiled.
