Multiple Flicker effect execution

Asked by Enyeto 9 years ago

Hello, I have built an EDH deck with Roon of the Hidden Realm . I also use Conjurer's Closet and several flicker spells. For this example I'll use Elvish Visionary

I resolve Elvish Visionary and draw my card. Then I activate Roon's flicker ability targeting the visionary.

At the end step, can I have the visionary enter the battlefield (draw my card) and then target the visionary with Conjurer's Closet 's triggered effect?

Unfortunately, you can't. Even though both the ability of the Conjurer's Closet and the delayed triggered abilty of Roon of the Hidden Realm trigger at the same time and you can stack them whichever way you want, the problem is that you have to select the target for Conjurer's Closet at the time it triggers. At that point, Elvish Visionary is still in exile, and therefore isn't a valid target.

Anyway, you can do it "backwards".Trigger Conjurer's Closet and, when the creature comes back to play, blink it with Roon of the Hidden Realm . The problem with this approach is: you have to wait till your opponent's end step to draw the second card. Most of the times, it won't make difference.
