Interaction between Aura of Dominion enchanting Disciple of Deceit
Asked by CMGraves 6 years ago
I enchant Disciple of Deceit with Aura of Dominion so I can tutor for multiple cards by paying and tapping Disciple of Deceit to untap Disciple of Deceit and use the inspired? My EDH group is saying no because the Disciple is not tapped and therefore cannot be tapped to do so. I say it's allowed because the activation cost is "(1), Tap an untapped creature you control" and the effect is "Untap enchanted creature." The effect doesn't say anything about the enchaned creature having to be tapped

You are indeed correct. Effects which tap or untap permanents, unless they specifically state it, can target and affect permanents which are already tapped or untapped.
Early Frost can legally target tapped lands.
For that matter Aura of Dominion could be activated en masse at the end of the turn of the player before you to tap many of your own Inspire creatures in order to trigger them during your untap step. It is completely irrelevant if the enchanted creature is tapped or not.
