Infinite Combo VS Elderscale Wurm

I was playing a friend who was playing a wurm deck and he played an elderscale wurm and shortly after I played the Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood infinite combo. Do I gain infinite life and he does not die, does he die, or what happens?

7/1/2012: Elderscale Wurm's last ability doesn't affect the loss or payment of life.

Sanguine Bond causes loss of life, which is not the same as damage (although the result of damage is, in most cases, loss of life). Elderscale Wurm's ability can't save you from life loss effects. The combo will play out unaffected.
