If I sacrifice my Sacred Cat with equipped Bonesplitter to Rite of Consumption. Does my enemy lose 1 or 3 life?

Couldn't settle it with my friend who argues that the creatures power is ultimately just 1. I honestly don't know the answer myself.

It's 3 life. The "sacrificed creature" in Rite of Consumption's text specifically refers to the creature on the battlefield that you sacrificed. It will use information about what the creature looked like the last moment it was on the battlefield to determine the size of the effect. In your example the creature had 3 power when you sacrificed it.
