doublestrike and sword of fire & ice

Asked by MakoLifeStream 9 years ago

ok real simple. Fencing Ace equipped with Sword of Fire and Ice. swings, unblocked. so first strike damage first (first set), then normal combat damage (second set). do i deal 2 sets of 2 damage and draw 2 cards? or do i just do the swords effect once?

The ability triggers whenever the equipped creature deals combat damage to a player. Creatures with double strike deal combat damage twice per combat phase, so you'll get two triggers. Remember, though, that they're independent triggers and resolve in separate combat damage steps. It's not one instance, and they don't trigger simultaneously.

basically what he/she said. how it would go, end main phase, attack phase begins. You declare attackers, no blocks declared. Fencing ace deals First strike damage. That damage resolves dealing 3 points of damage, Fire and Ice adds +2/+2 to the creature, then activates the 2 points of damage, You draw a card. then you hit for 3 points again then the 2 points off the sword and another drawn card. if you paired that with Infect as well, itd be great
