Do equipments tap if the creature it equips attack?

Let's say i have a Haunted Plate Mail attached, and my creature attacks, can i use it as a blocker next turn?

Equipment, auras, and fortifications do not tap when the permanent they are attached to becomes tapped. As such, you will be able to activate Haunted Plate Mail ’s ability (provided you meet its “no other creatures condition”) and use it to block after it was attached to a creature that became tapped.

This is something that's misrepresented a lot in general play, probably because it's rarely important, but Caerwyn is completely right.
