Do abilities act immediately or at the end of the phase?

Flameblade Angel when she is dishing out her damage from being attacked could she destroy Brutal Hordechief before is ablities and would his ability reactivate hers?

Triggered abilities go on the stack the next time a player receives priority after they trigger. Brutal Hordechief triggers on the declare attackers step and the triggers will go on the stack and resolve unless countered at that point. Flameblade Angel triggers anytime damage is done to you or a permanent you control. Life loss is not the same as damage, even though damage usually results in life loss. Brutal Hordechief's ability will not trigger Flameblade Angel.

Also Flameblade Angel is a creature and therefore can not be directly attacked. She can be damaged by blocking or being blocked in combat, or by direct damage spells or abilities. She can not be directly attacked though.
