Countering spells that are cast from effects
Asked by zandl 8 years ago
Say I pay WUBRG for a Bring to Light and find a Gilt-Leaf Winnower, then cast it as past of Bring to Light's effect. My opponent then has the option to counter/respond to the Winnower, right? Since it's being cast and (I'm assuming) using the stack?
Bring to Light would also trigger "When you cast ~, ..." abilities, right?

Yes on both counts. After Bring to Light has resolved there is a round of priority where Gilt-Leaf Winnower is at the top of the stack, that is when your opponents have the opportunity to counter it.
