Commander alpha and fetch lands

Asked by DJSeras 9 years ago

Can you run any alpha land, such as Savannah in any Commander deck, or do the color restrictions apply somehow? Same question for fetch lands such as Windswept Heath .

I do understand noncommander colored mana would be colorless.

I would think they would work but my friends are telling me otherwise and I can't find a ruling anywhere

For the fetchlands, yes. It doesn't include a mana symbol in the text box, just another land type.

That's no on the duals, though. You can't have basic land types that aren't of your commander's colors.

903.5d: A card with a basic land type may be included in a Commander deck only if each color of mana it could produce is included in the commanders color identity.

So that means a land containing a type swamp can't be in a non black deck, but could Cabal Coffers ?
