Cliffhaven and Cutthroat

If someone kills my Cliffhaven Vampire with a Zulaport Cutthroat on my battlefield, the Cutthroat will trigger. But will the Cliffhaven trigger as well, or is it already dead by that point?

Because the Cutthroat's ability uses the stack, the Vampire will be dead and not on the battlefield when you actually gain the life. This means that it will not trigger.
