Chandra, Pyromaster and Shrapnel Blast

If you use Chandra, Pyromaster 's -7 ability, could you choose Shrapnel Blast to copy 3 times and NOT pay the additional cost of sacrificing an artifact, or are you required to sacrifice 3 artifacts to cast the 3 copies?

Unfortunately you have to sac an artifact to cast each copy.
When a spell or ability allows you to cast a spell without paying its mana cost you still have to pay any additional costs and you may pay kicker like costs. It is important to note this is only when a card says cast the copy. If you copy a spell that is already on the stack you do not have to pay the additional cost and you may not pay kicker like costs.

Alright. Thanks, my next question would be, can you choose to cast those copies or any number of them? And can the opposing player counter one or more of the copies made from Chandra, Pyromaster .

You may choose to cast all or none of the copies. You can't choose to cast only some.

Yes. They're still spells. They still have to resolve.

Always check the Gatherer rulings before asking a question.
7/1/2013: Because youre playing the copies without paying their mana costs, you cant pay any alternative costs for the copies. You can pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the copies have any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.
