Bottled Cloister changing control

Asked by LordArazeal 9 years ago

Bottled Cloister got stolen, (Master Thief) and reading it's effect, "return all cards removed from the game with bottled cloister to your hand'' it seems to state that my hand, which was exiled due to the bottle, would return to my opponent's hand.

this feels so so wrong, but im not sure why exactly

Always check the Gatherer rulings before posting a question.

2/1/2006: Errata'd to make it clear that only the cards you own go into your hand, so if you somehow gain control of the Cloister, your opponent's cards won't go to your hand.

Bottled Cloister now reads:

At the beginning of your upkeep, return all cards you own exiled with Bottled Cloister to your hand, then draw a card.

Whenever an effect would put a card an opponent owns into your graveyard, hand, or library, it doesn't. You can never have a card an opponent owns in any of these zones.
