Token Price

Is anyone else upset about the drastic increase in the feature token pack price? I understand there may be a need to increase the price, and its not a lot but I enjoyed the 15 tokens for 5 which would last me about a week, and now I will only pay the 5 for 5 and only buy once a week. It seems like a detriment personally because Im spending what I usually do but I get a third of the tokens. Not my favorite change ever :/

A raise in token price could be due to an increase in their demand. There can only be so many decks to be featured at a time and it is possible that the demand for these slots became to great, so to reduce demand the prices went up... also it could just be that all the work being done on the site increased the need for more money or due to the featured deck ad at the top the site isn't getting as much money from ads as they did before.

I understand the reasons they need to increase the price but the price went from .33$ to 1$ per token unless you buy 25 then its .8$ per. That's a pretty steep increase. Idk if they're worth that much.

It'd be neat if one were able to gain feature tokens by doing stuff around the site, and/or maybe just getting one once a month for being active. This would justify a higher price for tokens, as you can either contribute to the site (somehow, besides donating -- so more so to the community I guess) or you can fork over cash monies for the tokens.

I think that was part of the plan. It was being talked about earlier as an incentive for contributing (and I mean actually contributing, not posting all over the place in an attempt to net one or two tokens).

Also, the "order now"/"donate now" images seem to be out of alignment on the extras page.

Well the tokens used to only get you a feature in the deck part of the site. Now it actually replaces ad space as well. So you are getting featured and replacing ad revenue temporarily. So it makes sense that it would cost more.

I increased the price because the ad up top now gets replaced by a featured deck for a time. This allows the site to show off way more decks.

I will say this, having the decks up top instead of the ads actually costs the site money =). However, the point of this site is to get decks feedback, so I justify it like that.

Tokens now are way more useful, in my opinion. The old front-page-only system really didn't seem to be working very well.

Also, there are TONS of tokens out there at the old price, so whoever was holding them got them at a nice discount.

And TheHorse, yeah I'm thinking of tasteful ways to get them for free.

Might I suggest deck-building challenges, where (say...) the top 4 decks get 4, 3, 2, and 1 Feature token, top-down?

Actually, that sounds like hella fun.

T/O needs moar Standard Pauper challenges! Like Leafs_suck's Standard Pauper Challenge from last year, which, uhh, we're still waiting for to finish.
