How can i be allowed to post an article?

Hey guys, i've been thinking about writing an article for the site for a while now, but i don't want to start typing without knowing i can post it! I've been a member of the site for quite a while and own the number 2 most up-voted deck on the entire site. I've been wanting to write an article explaining not only building a deck, but showing users how to be successful on the site, how to get the most up-votes and views so that you can get maximum feedback. I want to talk about my journey to the top and how i aim to be number 1 on the website. But to do this i need to be able to post an article. Who can i talk to about this? Epochalyptik can you help me here?

Once you get approval from a high up admin (Epoch), anyone with article privs can post it. I'd do it, but there's a number assigned to each user that you need to show who wrote the article, and the last time I checked I can't find that number. Then again this was over a year ago. Also given that I still have article privs...

As nice as this is can I just point out that having the number two top deck would be an achievement and a real credential, IF it wasn't a joke deck that consisted of only Islands

ChiefBell: the power level of islands is over 9000!

Agreed with Chief. I'm not going to let my opinions of the Islands deck interfere with hearing out your article idea, but I would avoid mentioning the deck as a credential.

Typically you're going to need to come up and follow through with a series or show commitment to writing articles before you get privs yourself (surprisingly enough, I did consistently write a series a long time ago... and we won't mention my last attempt).

ducttapedeckbox, ChiefBell The deck aside, would you suggest i write the article i want to write, and get someone to proof it first? How would i get it proofed by one of the admins etc... or do you think i'd just need to write an outline first so i don't go through the whole process of actually writing it just to get it declined? :) CheeseBro Cheers bro. Would like to mention that yes the deck is a bit of fun, and yes most people probably don't see it as an achievement, but we've built a small community of people who support the deck and keep commenting on it and keep making it a fun place to be when i get home from uni and find that someone has made a funny remark on the deck.

Well given that I am an admin I can proofread and check and help out, however only I believe Epochalyptik and Matsi883 can actually publish. I am unsure about Epoch but Matsi certainly can publish. I am happy to help out with the early stages, however.

The track you take is up to you. As long as the article is written well and grammatically correct, we can probably put it up.

An outline will help regardless of what you do. Part of the challenge of creating written content for T/O is finding a topic people want to read about. Try to be unique and approach something that hasn't been done before.

The ideas you mentioned in the original post seem very similar to articles that Epoch wrote way back. I'm not trying to discourage you, but creating written content that's on par with Epoch's will be very challenging.

If you'd like, you can create a private deck list with an outline or a draft of the article and I'd be more than happy to look it over.

EDIT: I can publish articles, ChiefBell. Well, I haven't physically tried in a while, but I can still get to the article page where I would post. I also can't look up users to publish the article under their name, but once the first goes up I can take the "user ID number" from that one.

Sharing a document with google docs I think it a solid way to do it.

Google docs is a great way. Before you give it to someone to post though, you'll want to put it into a deck description to check your formatting.

Cheers for all your feedback guys, i'll start wrting my first draft and will get it touch with both ChiefBell and ducttapedeckbox when i'm finished. And from that i assume one of you can pass it on to Epochalyptik or Matsi883.yeaGO It hasn't got anything to do with becoming number one, that will come naturally haha ;)

I've actually been considering starting some new articles. Haven't done any in a while, and I have some free time...

Not to get off topic, but would anybody be interested in articles about adapting jank decks to competitive metas?

Jay Honestly i think the fun thing about writing is that you have your own creative license and you can literally write about what ever you like and believe it or not, someone will be interested in it. Good writers can make a boring topic exciting and poor writers can make what should be a great read, a boring one. I say go for it!

Sounds good smackder.

I've been thinking of reviving my Thinking Outside of the Deck Box series, Jay. It's just a matter of figuring out a schedule so I can stay committed to writing. I'd definitely be interested in that series though.
