When Will there be a Vryn Block?

With Chandra returning to her home plane in the Kaladesh block, I believe that it is safe to presume that there will eventually be a block set on Vryn, Jace's home plane, with the only uncertain aspects of that being when and how such a block shall occur.

I doubt that WotC would have such a block too soon after the Kaladesh block, so I predict that such a block will happen no earlier than 2018. As for how it may happen, I predict that someone from Vryn shall visit the Gatewatch on Ravnica, as did Dovin Baan, and that their visit will trigger Jace regaining his memories of the plane, leading to him returning there.

What does everyone else say about this? When will there be a block set on Vryn, and how will the story lead into it?

With luck, never.

looks like it would be boring as hell, wow a bunch of old giant rings

Kaladesh is vibrant and exciting and delightful. Character backstory stuff is important for marketing bullshit but the setting needs to carry its weight

ClockworkSwordfish: why do you say that? Do you have a reason for having that belief?

I already dislike Jace, find him boring unless another walker is interacting with him. So I'll likely dislike a story which focuses on him in his home plane.

Vryn is going to get visited I bet. We've only seen a tiny aspect of it. You have two factions warring over control of the mage rings which in turn grant control of the power flowing through them and various groups manipulating those two factions.

However I dont think it will be soon.

We will obviously see Vryn before too long. I mean come on, he is widely (in)famous in MtG and we still have not been to his homeplane. My only hope is that the reason we see Vryn is because somebody or something finally killed Jace

I think what a lot of people here agree on is that we're getting Jace burnout. He's been pushed so much over the past few years and is character has gotten predictable and honesty fairly boring. I'm sure Vryn would be a fine plane to go to due to the previously mentioned warring factions, the dead Sphinx(was he the only one type questions) and Jace's story obviously but I would like some Gatewatch detox soon. I know they're setting the Gatewatch up to be the main focus of the Mtg lore but if we had a few outliers in the story like Khans block was removed from most of what was happening outside Ugin coming back I'd be ok.

Plus, everyone in the Gatewatch is so over the top "their color" it doesn't leave room for their characters to develop. Jace and Gideon are hunky dory, Nissa is the hippie, Lili tries to manipulate people and Chandra is flippant. We get it. At least with Venser and Koth there was some dissention between the good guys and they were at odds on how to do the right thing. That's what made them much more interesting in that they had the same goal but weren't bound to having to agree.

I suspect we'll see the block down the road. People have been asking for a block which is more instant/sorcery focused according to an article by MaRo. Vryn seems like the logical place to do that since it's a wizard heavy plane apparently.
