What happened to Kamahl?

According to the sources I've found online, Kamahl is dead. However, I can't find the details of the event. Wasn't he rescued from Karona by Sash and Waistcoat?

So while Jeska was adventuring through the multiverse with her immortality, her brother died a hermit in some remote Krosan forest from old age? That's a very anticlimactic ending to a badass like Samahl

Actually, Jeska sacrificed herself to close the final rift, so Kamahl outlived Jeska.

Ryjo i believe that the time spiral events occurred long after onslaught, when jeska went back to her home (on otaria), it was basically an abandoned place, with a mural that depicted jeska thrice touched by infinity (if kamahl were alive, she would probably go find him). she also recalls the memories of kamahl and the cabal as old memories (suggesting kamahl is dead)
chosenone124 dying in the krosan seems just like kamahl; born a barbarian, die as the guardian of krosa.

Well looking at this site (http://mtg.gamepedia.com/Timeline) (I'd link it, but link syntax does not work for me), the Mending took place in 4505 AR, and Tarkir block too place primarily in 4608, so Kamahl may have just died of old age.
