Secret Lair Extra Life

What are everyones thoughts on the new secret lair? Personally I think it is the best one yet as every card is a staple in some format or another, they are giving to charity with every purchase, the art is good, and the price of all the cards if you were to buy them individually is much more than the secret lair price.

The final price for people in Europe is so steep, so its a hard pass here. Its some good reprints but I personally don't feel like the art belongs in mtg (nice art though) but I feel the same way about previous secret lairs. I hope this one will raise a lot of money for those who need it.

I'm just taken aback at the ethical whiplash of having one product be such a blatant predatory cash grab and the next product in the same line be something so noble.

I'm too broke to buy either but the uneven tones is extremely off putting and would make me refrain from purchasing any of these products until WOTC sorts themselves out.

Here in the states, it’s amazing. $60 for cards that total to be far more. Tef’s Protection is $40 on its own.

Hmmm yes 4 $20+ cards for $60+ shipping. Obvious good product is obvious good product.

Decent value for anyone who doesn't have to pay $300 for shipping(minus extreme exaggeration), and it's especially good as it should reduce the price of the normal versions by a buck or two for a month or so.

I_Want_To_PlayAllTheDecks I can't check this one yet, but I remember I wanted to buy kaleidoscope killers and to get it to Denmark I had to pay tax and the shipping cost - it was like paying a little over double the price of what people in the US had to (Take the price with a grain of salt since its some time ago, but I remember laughing over the steep price for 3 cards). Its not really worth the price or the hassle here if you ask me.

Oh yeah thats annoying and another reason why the secret lair walking dead is absolute bullshit.

It is a better gesture than banning a bunch of cards based on socio-cultural or political beliefs. It still feels a little off to have a $20 price hike though, seems like it would have been more of a statement to be closer to base price & have the company foot some of the cost & place a statement that the coverage was going to proceeds... This still feels like placing a large majority onus on the gameplayer/whales & the company is having their cake & eating it too. I know from a micro-perspective several people I know have been turned off by the price hike, which is a bit of a bummer when some proceeds go to a charity.

As someone who can't afford any one of the individual cards and therefore won't be buying the Lair, I have no qualms.

It's easy to have no qualms when it can't hurt you in any way.

I generally don't like secret lairs, but I feel this one is amazing. It's a thirty dollar product with reprints of popular cards, with a $30 Charity "Tax".
