Answering a TimeWarp with Reverberate

Good morning fellas,

This past weekend I was playing against PyromancerAscension/Timewarp deck with my RDW. This is what happened opponent casted Time Warp copied it with the Pyromancer and I in turn responded to the Time Warp with a Reverberate. After a discussion at some length. We resolved it by her taking her two extra turns and then I took my 'extra turn' and then my regular turn. I read the ruling on Gatherer where it states that if multiple Time Warps are resolved they are taken in reverse order in which they are resolved, which I imagine means last to resolve goes first. Should I have taken my 'extra turn' first then? Or did we resolve it properly?

The way it went through was correct. Like you said, the turns are taken in reverse of how they resolved, so since your copy of Time Warp resolves first, you are the last to take your extra turn.

you should have taken your turn first, which from your original post you didn't. first on, last off - the last thing put onto the stack was the copy of the Time Warp targeting you, so that should have resolved first, then the ones targeting your opponent.

The last thing that was put on the stack was the Reverberated copy, yes, but think about it this way..

Reverberated Time Warp

Pyromancer's Time Warp

Time Warp

That is how the stack currently looks.

Now they start resolving and they resolve in the same order, but now the last thing to resolve is the original Time Warp. And since it even says in the rules that multiple Time Warps means the turns are taken in the reverse order of how they are cast, it makes sense the original happens first.

So now the spells happen like this..

Time Warp

Pyromancer's Time Warp

Reverberated Time Warp

As I read somewhere about this "The last turn to be created is the first to be taken"

Hello TappedOut! I am doing Pack wars with some friends later today. For anybody who doesn't know what pack wars are, let me fill you in, at least the way I know how to play. Pack wars work by taking an unopened pack, open it but DON'T look at the cards, take out the tip card, add three of each basic, shuffle, and then finally play. Now, back to why I made this post, I don't know what packs I want to grab. M15? Theros? Should I get one of those three packs and a promo things from a store? Alpha? (kidding) Also, has anyone else played Pack Wars? What packs did you use?

I've played it with Theros and it was pretty fun. I would probably go for M15 though as a lot of the Theros mechanics require multiple cards to function. For example, to get good use out of a heroic card, you would need a card that can trigger heroic. Sometimes you can find innistrad block packs in those three packs also.

Usually people play Pack Wars when they are just cracking packs so as to add some interest instead of just ripping through wrappers. So you should get some packs of whatever you want to open the most right now (obviously Modern Masters).

I would try and get conspiracy. Pack warred ~10 boosters with my brother and it was pretty fun. Also, why do you add 3 of each fracking land! You only need 10 lands for fifteen cards.

Hmmm, I'm tempted to get M15 deckbuilders toolkit, but I think I'm just gonna grab what ever good packs are there, unfortunately I don't live near a good card shop so no Modern Masters. CreationCatalyst We're pretty much using this as an excuse to crack some packs

miracleHat is it only 2 lands each? I don't know... haha we'll try both ways and see which we like better

@sonicizslow, it might be three honestly. Whenever it comes to drafting, i always use less land then everybody else. I have heard that the normal is 17 (16-18) lands. I normally use 15-16, but never above that.

Because you're playing with all 5 colors, the three of each basic helps with being able to cast stuff.

Pack Wars is a blast! Lots of luck involved. M15 is rather fun, as it can stand alone quite well. Theros Devotion is difficult to trigger in Pack Wars.

Definitely Alpha :P

Being serious either M15 or Conspiracy would be best I think.

If you also play Standard, then go M15 or JOU. Cheaper, too. Otherwise INS/RTR :)

I do Pack Wars all the time with my friend. I dunno how you do prizes, but how we play is whoever wins gets both packs and the contents in them. I dunno how I did it but I beat my friend once after he played an Archangel of Thune .

Anyway... I would go with M15 Personally. Other than that crappy Convoke reminder text, I feel the core sets are super fair when it comes to the limited format (unless someone pulls a soul).
