So... Reiterate, huh?

So Reiterate spiked from $4.50 on Thanksgiving to something ridiculous today... It had been going up for some time previously (as it's apparently spent most of its life just under $2) due to some shenanigans with the new U/R commander, but there are now only two non foil copies available on TCGplayer (both moderately played). One's $15 and the other is $45.

Seems to clearly be a buyout of some kind, but my question is: why? Is it really just the shenanigans with Mizzix of the Izmagnus that caused someone to buy it out, or is there something else going on with the card that I missed while I was busy recovering from all the turkey?

Huh... Looks like I accidentally chose a great time to pick that up 3 weeks ago.

yeah likely just a casual speculation buyout. Demand for the card rose and it has only 1 printing, so perfect combination to try and make a profit. That or someone got wind of some early spoilers of the next set and it somehow breaks Reiterate.

Nah the budget commander guy on mtggoldfish included it in the $20 upgrade. Someone bought it out in anticipation. To be fair, I was planning on buying a copy, but now I'll wait a while.
