Rivals of Ixalan Boxes

Who thinks Rivals of Ixalan is worth the box price? Are there enough power cards in the set? I ask because I have 2 cases arriving in 2 days and boxes are going to be opened and broadcast via my youtube channel (DangerUs Investments)!!I know it's a little early but most of what I'm hearing is that the set is pretty solid. Foil's can make or break it too so hopefully we get something sick! Come watch it happen and subscribe!

Opening booster boxes is never a way to generate value. Ok you might get super lucky and open a foil Planeswalker or chase mythic, but mostly you're just losing anywhere from 50%-80% of the value of any given booser pack by opening it.
I opened two booster boxes myself (I collect and want the cards, not looking for value) as did my mate. Based on what we each got I might just about have made my money back if I sold it all, but barely, and I lucked into opening 2 Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca in one box. Highest-value card in the set at time of opening, and already down to $12 on TCG-Mid.
Here in the UK there were only 2-3 cards that were even close to the 20 level if you're buying from an online store rather than player-to-player. Everything else in the set is only a few 's at best... so a janky box of 36 rare/mythic could net you maybe 60-70 for an outlay of 80/85 to buy the box, and that's IF you could sell every rare from the box.

The entire set is dropping fast since the last standard tournament crushed most people's dreams for a fixed standard format or even the viability of tribal decks. If the next tournament also has such results, Rivals will be worth almost nothing.

Wow OneItsStarted you have me a little concerned here haha Oh well, we're gonna open some boxes!! I mean who doesn't like cranking some packs. If I can make it all back great, if not then hey... hopefully you guys had a good time watching me get boned lol I appreciate the input so far though guys, this is awesome. Make sure to check out the box openings on youtube (DangerUs Investments) this weekend perhaps and hopefully I get as lucky as GeeksterPlays with the 2 Kumena's! Maybe a foil!

The set was barely under EV as per Mtgoldfish before the bans - cards in it have only risen since then. I honestly cannot imagine having to handle this much bulk, but I would open at least 2 boxes and see how it goes and wish you good luck!
