Standard GW (Selesnya)

Day9TV played a single game against a selesnya landfall deck and I liked the idea so much I instantly went and tried to build one myself.

Please leave suggestions for improvement. I'm not good at coming up with sideboards so feel free to share ideas for cards.

Update:

  • added Druid Class (extra survivability that also makes a giant creature late game), Prosperous Innkeeper (this + Scute Swarm going off out-heals pretty much any aggro while providing unkillable ramp early-game), Doomskar (all aggro decks are much faster than we are, but with our ramp and large non-creature payoffs we can stabilise much quicker or kill them using man-lands), Turntimber Symbiosis (just a land that has late-game payoff), Esika's Chariot (stops aggro, creates counter-pressure, helps massively post-Doomskar and can copy Wrenn and Seven's tokens which is usually enough to overwhelm most opponents), Kazandu Mammoth (land that can be sometimes useful, lack of trample means I'm not playing 4).

  • removed Verdant Mastery (need to play other things for 4 mana), Rite of Harmony (still unsure), Ashaya, Soul of the Wild (I liked the extra landfall triggers but I felt like it wasn't enough and I'm trying Vorinclex now), Yasharn, Implacable Earth (second ability just doesn't do anything and I would rather get the lands into play or play Wrenn), Emeria's Call (3W too much, it's more green-based now), Emergent Sequence (ramp that dies :/ the attacking power of the creatures rarely mattered).

New strategy:

I have decided to turn this into a midrange-y deck that ramps up, clears my overextended opponent's board and has fun making lots of big bois. Man-lands carry this deck against controls, just play creatures one by one and when they run out of removals, swing with your lands. Aggro and midrange get swept up by Doomskar and Swarm + Felidar/Wrenn + Esika's are bigger snowballs than whatever the opponent might have. However, sometimes the token generation is good enough to stall the opponent and allow yourself to go crazy. The main issue I've had with the original list was dying to flyers and running Doomskar was the necessary evil that allowed me to overcome dragon-based and monoW decks. So far ranked from Bronze to Silver on MTG:A in Bo1, will see how far I can take it.
