I'm an older lady (old enough to be a mother to my son who is on here...) who played MTG in the old days (94-98) and then left the game for many years until my son got me back into it when he started playing in college. I have a decent recollection of those older cards but there are enormous gaps in my knowledge base with anything that happened between 1998 and about the time of Crimson Vow. Before anyone asks, we sold our vintage cards in 2011, which we had to do but we rue that decision deeply. My favorite color is green although I add a lot of blue these days for Commander I know I have some retro thinking in some of my deck brewing.

I am listening to my husband (who loves to play red and Gruul) in the hallway and he is very partial to Goblin Scouts (he loves those old 90's cards). He loves your Goblin War Strike, btw. He adores tossing Goblins into Goblin Grenade to cause all sorts of mayhem and damage. Just some friendly thoughts and happy playing.

I took out Dark Deal, but I may consider it again, it's on the edge. It's still not as competitive as I would like. I was considering Defense Grid for a Stax element, what do you think?

We who are building Sheoldred decks need to stick together. I would very gently suggest a few creatures that are in the synergy, such as Bloodgift Demon, Defiant Bloodlord, Epicure of Blood, Marauding Blight-Priest, or Psychosis Crawler. If you have the time, please return the favor and put a few eyes on my deck too?

If anyone has time, could some different eyes please take a look at my Sheoldred's Dream Drainer mono-black Commander deck?

Argh, so decided I had really overbalanced on the draw and drain life to enrich my life part when I broke out my deck into categories. Took out a bunch of slots and put in a variety of control and defense, and it went down another 4 points. CoarselyRefined, I truly don't understand what I am doing wrong.

Not really seeing the point of K'rrik as I really don't plan on attacking if I can help it.

Cumulative mana prices are bad enough, cumulative life prices are not something I am going to pay, period. I don't believe the point of the game is to kill my own self off. A shame, or otherwise you are correct about the Glacial Chasm being potentially powerful.

I understand your concern about decking out. I didn't like the mechanic of Necropotence, so I put in some artifacts to recycle my graveyard and some other graveyard recursion.

I run across a lot of combo decks and control decks at my LGS. I might still plan on Aetherflux, but frankly this deck is also getting more and more expensive, and the AER is worse. Not sure yet.

Tergrid and Hero's Downfall are in.

I may try to break this deck back out into categories but that's going to be messy at this point, I suspect.

CoarselyRefined I have tweaked the deck some according to what you and a good friend of mine who has played for many years over in Japan both suggest. However, the rating has gone down and I am concerned.

Many thanks for the feedback. I have a terrible taste in my mouth for those infinite combos, so I don't really want to run them. I am not thinking of doing much with creatures on this deck other than for their synergy with life manipulation, so I am not sure about the Poacher but I will consider him. I can't believe I missed Invoke Despair. and that's likely getting added. Necropotense does not help me draw more, so it was nixed. More draw is good, and I will strongly consider both of those. I will consider the Castle, but I don't like throwing my life around at a deficit. I do not want to get into Zombies for this deck. Maybe another, although as you will eventually see, black is not my native territory.

Thank you for checking out my Sheoldred deck. I have not built this deck yet and would really appreciate feedback and assistance in making it stronger. It only rates as 58% and I was hoping it would be a little better than that.

My cheapest, easiest to build, and most successful deck to date (please note I just got on this site so most of my decks are not yet listed) is my Narset's Nasty Temper, which is one I actually have listed under my username. It is mostly common/uncommon spells. I also do have an Arcades, the Strategist deck (not yet listed) but I found him really hard to protect without help from spells like Swiftfoot Boots or Lightning Greaves. I appreciate constructive feedback on my decks, so please leave me comments if you check out my decklists.
